The religious establishment of His day plotted against Him, mocked Him, and handed Him over to die. The Son of God knows exactly what it is to be wounded by the people who run religion. Whatever they did to you, He is not a distant Savior. He is the One who was despised and rejected too, and He meets you right inside that wound.
