Your mind rehearses disaster, painting the worst-case scenario in full detail like preparing for it will somehow protect you. But all that rehearsing does is make you suffer things that haven't happened. Most of what you fear never comes. And even if hard things come, you won't face them alone or unequipped. God meets you in the actual moment with the actual grace you need, not in the imagined ones. You can lay the dread down.
